Route 2 Updates - Farley
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) began engaging with Erving town officials in fall 2022 to begin research on how they are able to reconstruct Route 2 and intersections in Farley. The project is titled 604959 Erving-Farley Flats Route 2 Corridor Project and the boundaries are between the east end of Old State Road at mile maker 60 and Mountain Road at mile marker 62.9. MassDOT has hired the engineering and planning firm Green International and anticipates funding the project in the 2027 Transportation Improvement Program.
Summer 2023 Update
Green International consultants and MassDOT have incorporated resident feedback into four new concepts to be presented at a public meeting on September 20, 2023 at 7PM at Erving Senior & Community Center.
February 2023 Information
A road safety audit was completed to identify safety concerns in the area. Green International completed an initial 5 design concepts for review by MassDOT. The concepts were presented to Farley residents at a public workshop of February 8, 2023 and feedback was solicited. Feedback will be incorporated into futher design options and presented again to the public in the future.
