Form A - Application for Approval Not Required (ANR)

Please fill out this form via fillable PDF or download and print to fill out by hand. Upon completion, bring the Form A and supporting documentation including 6 copies of all surveys and drawings to the Town Clerk. The Town Clerk will sign in the documents and hand the paperwork off to the Planning Board to review at their next meeting. The Planning Board has 21 days to review the paperwork and determine if approval is not required or if the land changes are subject to the Subdivision Control Bylaw and need to be reviewed further. Upon review one of three decisions can be made:

  1. Approval is not required - a majority of the Planning Board shall endorse that decision with their signatures on the plans and complete Form A-1 to confirm the decision. If an endorsement is not made within 21 days of submittal, it is automatically approved and the Town Clerk shall issue a Certificate of Approval to the applicant.
  2. Approval is required under the Subdivision Control Bylaw - the Planning Board shall complete Form A-2 and has 60 days to begin the hearing process
  3. The paperwork is not complete enough to make a determination - the Planning Board shall complete Form A-3 and return it to the applicant. The applicant may resubmit the paperwork with changes or additional information if they so choose.
