MassDOT Resurfacing Project on Route 2

The Town of Erving has been informed of a resurfacing project (#117648) that MassDOT is conducting on Route 2 that will span from the French King Bridge to the west end of Old State Road.  There is also resurfacing work in the Town of Gill.  The resurfacing project will begin this summer and continue into the fall.  The project will not officially close until spring 2023 so there is some finish work that may occur in the spring.

The work will also include the addition of bike lanes and sidewalks along Route 2 in the area of Semb Drive and the Post Office along with the addition of a crosswalk with pedestrian flashing beacons.  The project will include new line painting as well.

MassDOT will be establishing a site office in Erving for this project as well as the project for the installation of safety barriers at the French King Bridge.

Because this is not a Town of Erving project, Town officials are unable to answer specific questions about the project.  Questions should be directed to MassDOT District 2.
