Eversource Transmission Right-of-Way Clearing

EVERSOURCE WT-11 Transmission Right-of-way – Northfield, Erving, Wendell, Montague, Leverett, Shutesbury, Pelham, Belchertown, Amherst, Granby, and Ludlow

The Town of Erving is sharing the following information to residents regarding Eversource's Massachusetts Environmental Protection Act (MEPA) submission to further clear a transmission right of way.

EVERSOURCE WT-11 Transmission Right-of-way – Northfield, Erving, Wendell, Montague, Leverett, Shutesbury, Pelham, Belchertown, Amherst, Granby, and Ludlow

As described in the EENF, the WT-11 right-of-way (ROW) is 300 feet wide and has a maintained width of approximately 125 feet. The project will increase the ROW width to up to 200 feet by cutting trees from within the currently unmaintained/forested portions of the ROW, which will increase the distance between the overhead transmission lines and the adjacent trees.

More nformation can be found on the MEPA website by clicking projects under review and then viewing the attachments for project EEA # 16570.

Comments on the project will be welcome in writing prior to July 25, 2022.  A Certificate on the EENF will be issued on August 1, 2022, which will include a Scope for a Single EIR or a Draft EIR.
