NOTE FROM 3/2/23: IF THERE IS HEAVY SNOW THIS WEEKEND THIS EVENT MAY BE CANCELLED OR RESCHEDULED

This event was originally scheduled for 2/25 but was rescheduled due to weather - we hope that all of you can join us on this new date 3/4

A guided hike hosted by Erving Conservation Commission. Naturalist David Brown of Warwick, MA, will lead the hike. Hopefully signs of Snowshoe Hares, Squirrels, Mice, Foxes, Porcupines, Coyotes, Deer and even a Bobcat will be found.

Meet at Poplar Mountain Conservation Area parking lot on Old State Road. Dress for the weather; bring water and possibly a thermos of cocoa for after the hike.  Portions of the trails are steep and there might be snow and ice so consider bringing snowshoes with cleats, microspikes or Yaktracks or similar traction aids for ice and snow; trekking poles are highly recommended.  Depending on weather the ticks are still active this year.

Future activities including Spring and Fall Road and trail clean-ups are planned.  If you would like to be on the email list of those interest both in activities and volunteer activities: email conservation@erving-ma.gov. In case of inclement weather, please check the calendar at erving-ma.gov for cancellations.
