Join us for a talk with local expert Sara Campbell:

The family who gave Erving its name is not well remembered, but in the 1700's John Erving was called the richest man in Boston. Did he ever set foot on the land he bought here in Western Mass? Sara Campbell will share her research into the Erving family and the wide range of historical documents she found to piece together their story. There were Patriots and Tories, sailors and merchants, soldiers and ladies, and even links to plantations in the Caribbean. They were painted by the preeminent artists of the time. We will get to know the Ervings through their own words, and the documents they left behind.
