2022 Center Cemetery Gravestone Restoration Work

In June 2022, the Town completed the restoration and preservation of 21 gravestones in the Center Cemetery.  The project was managed by Glenn McCrory, Cemetery Sexton, and the work was performed by Ta Mara Conde of Historic Gravestone Services of New Salem, MA.   Gravestones were prioritized for restoration based on condition and risk.  All work was conducted in accordance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards and the American Institute of Conservators code of ethics.
