The Friends of the Erving Public Library have been active since 2011. The mission of the Friends is to promote the library and offer programs and events to the community. The Friends are a charity and are active in fundraising and grant writing for capital projects and operating funds.
The Friends meet at the library on the first Thursday of the month. Please see the library calendar for the exact times.
Friends coordinate and/or participate in many annual events:
- February Candy Sale
- Town wide Tag Sale
- Book/Plant Sale
- Summer Reading Program Raffle
- Fall Festival
- Halloween Trunk or Treat
- Winter Raffle
- Puzzle Swaps
- Craft Afternoons
In addition the Friends:
- Provide assistance for special projects at the library
- Help let the community know about the library and its services
- Act as a liaison between the library and community groups
- Assist the library board in lobbying for support
