Center Cemetery

Gravestone Restoration Project

In 2018, the Town of Erving began the work to repair and preserve some of the oldest gravestones in the Center Cemetery.  The restoration work was conducted in accordance with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards and the American Institute of Conservators code of ethics.

The following progress has been made on this multi-year effort:

• In 2018, nineteen (19) stones were restored.
• In 2019, eight (8) stones were restored.
• In 2021, nineteen (19) stones were restored.
• In 2022, twenty-one (21) stones were restored.
• In 2023, twenty-one (21) stones were restored.
