Road Layouts
Whenever the Town works on a road related project, we must take a look at the official road layout (boundaries) and see if they are accurate, filed correctly, or need any changes. This work often requires working with a surveyor to update the layouts and then bringing it to Town Meeting to be approved.

Maple Avenue | Yes | Yes | Yes | Two lots at the end of Maple Ave visually appeared to have frontage, but legally did not. The driveway to the Town's salt shed began farther up the road than previously understood. This amendment will rectify this issue to create proper frontage for both adjacent building lots. | Maple Ave Layout |
Bridge Street | Yes | No | Yes | Bridge Street is one of the oldest Streets in Town and the record keeping process for road layouts is much different today than when the road was established. It has been referred to as an "ancient way." In preparation for the reconstruction of a significant portion of the road, the Town has had the layout resurveyed to have the bounds reaffirmed and would like to present the written description and plan to Town Meeting for a current adoption and then record these updated records at the Registry. This layout does not propose to take any land. | Bridge Street Layout |

Highland Avenue | Yes | Yes | Yes | This layout was previously adopted 2 other times, last was in the 1970’s but the plan was never recorded at the registry. The proposal includes the taking of 247 sq ft from 1 property owner at the owner's suggestion. | Highland Avenue Layout |
Pleasant Street | Yes | No | Yes | To incorporate the remnants of a discontinued Road known as North Street and to incorporate what has been called Maple Street. The layout from the Select Board in 1903 named the entire road Pleasant Street but the Moore Family Estate map referred to it as Maple Street so it was posted as such. | Pleasant Street Layout |
Poplar Mountain Road | Yes | No | Yes | Poplar Mountain Road was laid out by the Franklin County Commissioners in the 1800's. The Town has petitioned to the FRCOG Executive Committee to transfer the road in it's entirety to the Town which requires Town Meeting approval. |
