03/21/2021- Update Regarding COVID-19

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts made several announcements in the past few days to prepare for the State’s transition into Phase 4, Step 1 of the re-opening as well as to clarify the upcoming dates for COVID-19 vaccination eligibility.

The Commonwealth’s detailed timeline adheres to the original timeline for the three phases announced in December. All residents can preregister to book an appointment at a mass vaccination site at mass.gov/COVIDVaccine.  Appointments will be offered based on eligibility and available appointments nearby. It is expected that more sites will come online as part of the preregistration process in April.

Timeline for remaining groups:

  • Monday, March 22, 2021: Residents 60+ and certain workers (Click to review)
  • Monday, April 5, 2021: Residents 55+ and residents with one certain medical condition (Click to review)
  • Monday, April 19, 2021: General public ages 16 years of age and older

According to Governor Baker’s Administration, the State has received assurances from the federal government that an increased vaccine supply will be available to states soon.  Depending on supply, it could take weeks for people to be notified that an appointment is available at a mass vaccination site.

Massachusetts Re-opening- Phase 4, Step 1

Governor Baker issued Executive Order #66 that will take effect on Monday, March 22, 2021 which officially transitions the State into Phase 4, Step1.   This phase re-opens businesses previously designated to open during this step an addresses capacity restriction.  Remember that businesses opening during this phase must also comply with the Department of Labor Standards COVID-19 safety protocols.    For more information, review Executive Order #66 (click here).

Additionally, Governor Baker issued an Appendix for Executive Order #63 that takes effect Monday, March 22, 2021 that revises previous capacity restrictions for indoor and outdoor events.  For more information, review the Appendix to Executive Order #63 (click here).
